The Northern Grower Podcast

The Northern Grower Podcast Logo

The podcast started as a fun, hobby project last year and has grown so much since the start! The aim of the podcast is to share gardening tips and info aimed for cold climate growers (although all are welcome to listen), in an easy way designed for the complete beginner right through to the advanced growers. I also take a more anthropological stance with the podcast at times and share the lore and histories surrounding various plants and around agriculture.

Whether you are trying to practice homesteading, slow living, find more sustainability in your life or simply feeling overwhelmed with all the gardening and preserving of food. This episode can hopefully serve as a motivator and reminder that what you are doing is important. I discuss why it is valuable and important to continue or begin to learn homestead skills. I share my story and some listeners also contributed with their reasons why they are homesteading or choosing to learn traditional skills and connect to the land.
